Hey,

I'm planning to buy a backpack blower and am considering the Stihl BR 450 and Husqvarna 150BT. It will be used on a residential property (1 heavily wooded acre)

Thanks for your input!

Hi. I'm not familiar with the Stihl but I did own a Husqvarna 150BT briefly and it's a nice little blower and in my opinion the best value in that size/power range. I recommend them all the time to homeowners. I got mine from a customer, fixed it up a bit and gifted it to my brother-in-law who only had an electric hand-held unit. They're pretty quiet, can be worn by almost anyone, fairly powerful and just a nice little blower. They're basically a slightly cheaped-out version of their 350BT.

The problem with blowers of this size is that when moving piles, at a point they just become ineffective. They just don't handle wet, heavy/bulky debris well. I run gigantic backpack blowers and something like the 150BT feels like a toy to me - I know, I'm spoiled, lol. But a heavily wooded acre can put down a lot of leaves and debris, so if your budget allows it, I'd recommend stepping up to a unit in the 65cc range or so...something with 600+ cfm and 200+ mph. The Husqvarna 570BTS would get you done in half the time as the 150BT for about $200 more. https://www.husqvarna.com/us/products/leaf-blowers/570bts/966629402/

Or just go for it and get one in the 80cc range like mine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DXVh0wPs7g
