I need some help figuring out my model #, mainly the First number/letter. Ryobi 6.5 horse briggs.
"___K02-0531-E1", Type: 050301 FB, could someone figure out the first character by these. numbers are stamped above the muffler. It's so rusted i cant tell, even after cleaning.
So it's "something"K02-0531-E1.

Double check the model number that you can read. the 0531-e1 is not a good engine for a k02. could be a 123K02-0513-E1

All i still see is 3K02-0513-E1, but i can make out "something" before the 3, but it's too dang rusty.

But that model # you listed in your post "looks" like my engine.

The first two digits is the year of manufacture. So it is before 11070100 Which by the way is July 1 2011, and the 11063000 is June 30 2011 your date is March 1 2005;

i took the head off the engine to check the cylinder, no score marks and good condition, cleaned carbon off the head and piston crown.
One question, 3 head bolts that i took off had dirty engine oil on them. on the threads and up to the bolt head. I didn't tilt the mower up with the head face down or anything... Head gasket leak?
I replaced gasket with a new one.
