GCV160 rebuild question regarding the ctankcase

Was given a GCV160 (vintage 2011) off a Husqvarna mower to fix. Starts good, sounds good and has good compression. But it smokes moderately & consistently. I suspect rings. When I cracked the case and inspected more closely, I noticed quite a few vein-like cracks on the outside and inside of the the case itself. I have included a shot of the outside; inside looks similar. Could just be cosmetic & superficial, and as I said, it runs fine. Anyone have a Honda engine like this with these cracks? Is this a sign of impending crankcase demise?

They are casting defects caused by the metal being cast too hot.
Very rare for a Honda , should have been weeded out by QC.

Thanks for the reply. Is it mostly cosmetic or is it also weaker? I don't know much about its history but evidently it has been mowing grass without failing since 2011-12.

In a crankcase on 160cc engine lazing around at 3600 rpm , just looks bad.
The metal was too hot & the mould too cold.
usually it would just have been tossed back into the pot.

That's what I thought; thanks for your take.
