I installed a new carb on my 18.5 hp briggs lawn tractor and it will not start. I also installed a push button start with a kill switch to eliminate all of the wiring that was a rats nest. It will turn over fine but will not start. I also cut the tip off of the carb solenoid and disconnected the power to this switch. I have good spark. Did I do something wrong during the installation of the new carb. Tried everything and not I guess I will have to remove the carb to try to find out what is going on.

Try dumping a small amount of gas into the carb intake and then see if it will start. If it starts then you have a fuel problem, or maybe the choke wasn't closing all the way, if it doesn't start then you have other issues. Since you have spark that would leave compression or timing(flywheel key sheared)
