Hello forum members,
I've a John Deere X300 lawn tractor, which all the sudden has a starting issue.
It starts, as designed, with the regular brake pedal pushed down, with the parking brake OFF, and sitting on the seat.
However, when I release the regular brake, the engine stalls.
NOW, with the parking brake ON, the engine remains running when I release the regular brake pedal. In addition, I can get off the drivers seat, and the engine still remains running.
The switch under the seat APPEARS to be undamaged, as does the switch behind the regular brake pedal.
Any suggestions?
Thank You Members!

are you letting the engine warm up a few minutes before releasing brake?

Yes, letting it warm up. Today I manipulated the brake pedal switch (taped the plunger down) to see if that would work, and voila!, the engine now remains running when I release the brake pedal. My new brake switch will be here Monday. Thanks, Mark
