LTYX 1046 parking brake won't engage

The parking brake on my Cub Cadet LTX 1046 won't stay in the locked position. Mower will shut off when getting off the machine. I can't find the workings behind the dash. Is there an easy way to get to the parts to see what the problem is?

Brake lock is located under the frame. You will probably have to remove the deck to locate it. Many times it’s cause is poor maintenance, as you may have a debris buildup, not allowing the lake to travel far enough. I you would have posted the model number, located under the seat, it would be easier for us to help you.
