I got the chance of getting a real good brush hog ( rear attachment mower ) 60" for cheap and I have just 1 acre lawn ..would the lawn look real neat and nice if I were to use it to cut the grass..just a city guy that moved to the country ??

Brush hogs are for field grass and brush.
They don't do a bad job on lower grass, but they are certainly no finish mower.
For lawn you want a finish mower

If you keep looking around, they do make pull behind finishing mowers that are about the same size as brush hogs. You could possibly find a deal at an auction, moving sale, etc...
