Hi,

I have a ’98 Legacy that suddenly stopped running. It has a 20hp Kawasaki liquid cooled engine which has run really well for the last 5 or 6 years. Yesterday I pulled it into the garage to change a tire and when I was done it wouldn’t start. It would crank but not start. In checking I found it has no spark on either cylinder. Does anyone know where the fuse panel is located or if there are inline fuses? I can’t seem to find any.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Thanks

The spark has no fuse because it is self energizing thus generates the electricity it needs from the magnets in the flywheel & the coil on the outside.
Having said that there are relays / switches that turn this spark on or off by grounding the said same coil preventing it from generating a spark

Simplicity have nearly all of their wiring diagrams online .
All you need is the model numbers off the ID tag.
The download has all of the 1996-1998 in one download & the 1999-2000 in another so you might need both.

Thanks for the info. I found the diagrams online so now I'll start to trace things and see where it gets me. I'll let you know how I make out.
