I have a Scag Tiger Cub that will not try to turn over at all. There is sufficient voltage coming from the battery so I jumped the Solenoid and still nothing. The only way I can get it to turn over is to put power straight to the starter and even then it sill did not have spark. This all started with a bad stator. The mower ran fine before I replaced the stator and now I tried to put it back together and nothing is happening. I have checked all of the safety switches and the Ignition switch and they all have continuity. Any help is greatly appreciated because I am stumped. Thank You.

PTO switch off? Parking brake on? Drive levers in park position?

Ground cable off the battery dirty or loose?

It's most likely something you touched when you operated on it. I don't know if there is a fuse in line or not.

so lets start with the basics,
What engine ? brand & model numbers please.

The magneto is self powering but the cut out switch is not.
You should have some relays and they need power or they default to OFF.

You replaced the stator but did you also replace the rectifier ?
Depending upon the model some have the pins in different positions.
A faulty solenoid can also burn out the ignition switch.

It is a 26hp Briggs and Stratton model 44p777
I replaced the stator and if a rectifier and voltage regulator are the same thing then, yes I replaced it and the solenoid and tested the switch which was ok.

It could possibly be the ground wire from the battery. A few months back I had both battery terminals touch the bottom of the seat at the same time due to build up underneath the battery and this melted the coating off the ground wire. I still used it because the hot wire wasn't effected. To eliminate that this wasn't the problem I went out to buy a new battery ground cable and got the longest one Ace hardware had but still didn't reach back to where the original one was grounded to the motor. Do you have any advice of any other places where I can bolt the other end of this ground wire? Also The Pto switch is off, parking brake is on and drive levers are in park position. The fuses are both ok also.

Update!!!

So I replaced the battery ground wire cable and the solenoid at the same time so I am not sure which one did it but now one of the 20Amp fuses are blowing when I go to turn it over. Is there a specific way that the solenoid should be hooked up?

No the solenoid is not polarity sensitive
Take a picky of how you have wired it.
There should be 2 heavy cables ( Battery power in & out )
The power in should have a thin wire on it as well that goes to the key switch.
At the bottom should be 1 or 2 thin wires .
One will be the trigger + and the other will be trigger -
Some have a ground strap from a mounting bolt to the tigger -
