AS above. Is 10 volts enough to keep a lawn mower battery charged ?? Getting about 10 V at the battery terminals. No battery installed. Started from the starter motor with a jump pack. Thanks........Jay
Please post the model, type and code numbers for your Briggs engine. If your engine has a voltage regulator, you must have a battery installed for proper testing of the charging system. With numbers I should be able to find you a step by step procedure for testing. I never test any charging system without a fully charged battery. Takes the guess work out of the readings.
The engine is Model 282H07 Type 0334E1 Code 0505032E Bolens 13AM762F765 model if it matters.
The battery is going bad, charged up to 11.72 V and with engine running 12.31 V across the battery terminals. Any help will be appreciated..................Jay
As stated in my other post, when properly testing a charging system you need a good battery. After installing a good battery this manual should help you out.
