My John Deere Z930A and Z930M are using the PTO switches sold by JD. They last 60 days then fail. Is there anyone else that is having this same problem? My mechanic says they pop like popcorn. (failing as fast as popcorn pops). I have stopped buying these PTO switches from JD. I'm buying an upgraded switch on Ebay now. Problem seems to be better. Any comments? Anyone?

Number one, get a new mechanic. Two, you need to have someone with electrical troubleshooting experience take a look to find what is causing a high current draw, causing the switches to fail that fast.

As much as I don't usually do "me too's " , this one deserves a second confirming opinion.
The switches can carry 10A all day & all night, so some thing is causing a current draw in excess of that or something is contaminating your switch ( ants believe it or not ) or it is being rapidly turned on & off and arcing burning the contacts.
If you have an old switch pull it apart.
They are dead simple and because of that easy to diagnose.
A loose wire or one broken at the terminal crimp will also look like a failed switch.

Double ditto on the mechanic the switches should last for decades.
