Hey guys, recently acquired a Scotts 1642H. Made by JD with a 16hp CV16 Kohler. Seems to be a great mower. Recently replaced both drive and deck belts. Having two issues getting the deck back on. Having issues getting enough tension when the PTO is engaged and the PTO tension rod is hitting the deck mounting bracket. This is preventing the PTO From engaging and disengaging when the deck is at any level higher than about halfway. Please see attached picture(s) of the both the deck and where the binding point is. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have the correct deck belt. it appears that there is a 2 inch difference in the deck belt length depending on single or twin cylinder engine.

I replaced my mower deck belt about one month ago. The S1642 (Kohler 16hp engine) mowing deck belt id was John Deere M124895. Same belt id as originally given when mower was new. Fit perfectly and no tension adjustment was needed.
