What is a good brand of hearing protection?

My riders are twin cylinders and I like to hear the engines run. I use the yellow cheap foam plug inserts but I tear one in half, insert them in the outer part of my ear canals, not rolling it up and sticking it way down in. Muffles the sound just right and is comfortable to me. Those big muffs seem to raise my body temp about 25 degrees on a muggy hot summer day, just don't like them.
