Husqvarna 2016 yth24v48. Linkage from clutch/brake pedal to rear of mower is loose and hanging down. Still starts and runs fine but no brakes. Some kind of round spring on the rear of linkage seems to be loose. Help? Looks like an easy fix just cant quite figure it out. Thanks

Go to Husqvarna's web page, click on customer care , manuals then drop in your machines numbers from the tag under the seat.
Download the parts book.
The brake is part of the clutch and the brake lever on the gear box is connected to the clutch rod by springs so it can be adjusted so you are not trying to brake & declutch at the same time.
Most likely the nut has fallen off followed by the spring then the rod & lever parted company.

You will ned to get the mower up fairly high and remove the right rear wheel.
The brake works on the gearbox layshaft, not the wheels, by locking the diff so the wheels can only turn in opposite directions, thus when on the ground, you go nowhere.

Hey Bertsmobile, Everything is still there. Nothing has fallen off. The little round spring that sits on the shaft that clutch rod sits on is loose. Looks like (sprung) no tension on it?
Thanks

If the part you are talking about is not shown on the diagram in the IPL that deminin posted then it is part of the Tuff Torque K46 transaxle and you will need to get their IPL
Take off the rear left wheel and take a photograph of what is causing you grief.
The brake is a simple lever that presses down on a pair of pins that push a brake pad onto a floating disc.
The coil spring holds the brake lever OFF
The single bolt at the bottom of the lever adjust the brake, tight for stronger, loose for weaker.

The pins do tend to rust into place.
Put a box under it then remove the bole at either end of the caliper to remover the caliper to inspect all the parts.
Rare for them not to work at all.
Usual problem is brake jambing on.

If the brake rod locks the brake disc solid and the mower still does not stop then you have internal problems in the transaxle.
Note, the brake works on the layshaft, not the axel.
By doing this it locks the diff so one wheel can only go forward and the other can only go backwards ( same as the P position in an auto transmission ).
As such, while you have the wheels up off the ground, the brake will not stop the wheels from turning so the final adjustment has to be made wheels on the ground.
