I am trying to replace bearings rather than entire spindle. I got shaft out of spindle but bearing does not want to come off of shaft, before I tried putting bearing into vice to hold and tapping top of bolt, I wanted to make sure this isn't supposed to be one piece that doesn't separate? Thanks.

Bearing will come off but is press fit for about the width of the bearing. I have used an air hammer to remove them if they were especially difficult.

Do not clamp the bearing open the vice just enough to put the inner race on the mouth of the vice. Make sure the nut is protecting the threads and smack it with a 3 to 8 lbs sledgehammer till it falls out.

If I'm looking at this right I think you'll need a bearing splitter to get that off. Do a Google search for this, lots of info.
