This tractor stops running as soon as I release the brake.
It is in 1st gear, I am on the seat, the blades are disengaged. Release the break and the engine stops immediately.
I suspected the seat switch so I jumped all three wires in that connector together. That doesn't help.

Where should I be checking next?

hook the seat switch back up.
Start the mower set the brake and get off the mower.
If the engine stops then the seat switch or the wiring to the seat switch is bad.
The safety switch wiring is mostly a ground circuit so a short to ground will not blow a fuse but will stop the mower.

Found the problem. There was a short between the black and black/white wires on the seat connector. They were rubbed bare on the chassis above the right rear wheel. Fixed them up and taped them up and all is well now.

Thanks for the clue that this is a grounding safety system. Started checking for shorts to ground to find it.

Best regards.
