Mower shuts off when blades are engaged

Mowe runs great. It's a 10 year old Bad Boy "Pup" with a 30 horse Kohler engine. When I engage the blades, it's like the key is cut off. Any suggestions?

Set the parking brake & get off.
Mower stops = fault in the seat switch
