Hi All, I was mowing with my 13hp briggs and hit a dirt mound a few feet later, flames shot out of the carb and died. I am thinking I messed up the shear pin, can you give me any other ideas to look for? Thanks in advance

Best to confirm 1 thing at a time in sequence, yes check the flywheel, keyway ...... THEN check for bent blade, bent or broken crankshaft, (provided the engine can still be rotated by hand)

It's not common to shear a key on a rider, but I have noticed dirt mounds are harder on the keys than a pipe is.........

So yes the key might be sheared ~!~!
