Looking for some info on swivel type anti scalp wheels for JD s240 42" deck.


I have to cut a bunch of figure eight's under a row of trees and the wheels are drawing circles in the ground in sharp turns.


They do not hit the ground on level areas, and are adjusted by the book.


Are there any bolt on versions available?

I looked for some years ago,same problem and only way I can think of is have them welded on.

For 95.00 I would expect metal wheels with bearings.

I run the anti-scalp wheels all the way up on my machines. IMO you don't really need them on a 42 inch deck if you're mindful of where you're putting your deck. I suggest that you just raise them up a notch. I can tell just by the sound of my deck if I'm getting it too close to the ground.
