Hello

Im working on a 2014 Briggs and Stratton 675EX Ready Start/No prime

ENGINE # 126M02-0012-F1

Yardmachine/MTD # 11A-B96N729

Cant find certain numbers directly, iv'e been digging and got alot of info for most of what I need but need help tightening up some issues.

Jacks small engines website says Briggs and Stratton 593941(Cant find a conversion)

NGK says 625E, 650E, 650EX, 675EX Series (L-Head) Engines NGK BR2-LM (Converts to RJ19LM) Gap 0.7mm

11A-B96N729 # Manual PDF from MTD/YARDMACHINES says close but different plugs, and never mentions the one for my engine # specifically.
But says Briggs and Stratton 799876(Converts to RJ19LM) but doesnt match my engine #.

Some say RJ19LM and it is poping up alot but what is the Briggs and stratton plug 593941 doing here? There is a J19LM in it now but fouled to all hell.

Crazy how some engines pop right up and all the parts/manuals/specs are in your face, others its a bit of a hunt. You can see my dilemma.

I also see the only differences in RJ19LM and J19LM is a resistor. Both the same performance wise.

What is the right plug and gap for this engine?

Thank You for your time and help,
DamianJP

All Briggs L heads take a BR2-LM if they are fitted with a modern Hall effect trigger coil ( all except engine with points ) or
A plain LM 2 if they have points.
Performance wise, the LM fires earlier than the BR, resistors delay the spark.
Also the non resistor plugs can generate RF which interfears with the magneto.

Briggs change their part numbers more often than I change my undies.
They are always changing the plug code number to encourage you to buy the genuine Briggs plugs from a Briggs dealer
http://www.sparkplug-crossreference.com/convert/NGK_PN/BR2LM
If you try RJ19LM you will get almost the same crosses to Briggs & Stratton.

If your plugs are fouling then time for new rings or a new magneto.

That engine calls for the special .020 gap spark plug which explains the no direct conversion for that plug since nobody every made the direct replacement plug and was only available through Briggs. Kind of like the spark plugs for my Hemi engine in my Ram. The plugs are not available through the auto parts stores, can only be purchased from the dealer.

I'd just put an RJ19LM in it.

The Briggs 593941 replaces the 799867 plug..... Use a RJ19LM and gap to .20 like IL Engine said and you will be fine....

Thank you gentlemen , youve cleared alot up.

So far heres the list, $33

Air filter (5 Pack)
Fuel filter
Fuel line and clamps
RJ19LM plug .020
Carburator kit

Got alot of water out of tank, totally cleaned out now. Gotta tell him fresh fuel and stabilizer.

Will taking the mag off and cleaning up the two ends and gapping it with a business card help while im here?

Im also awaiting his decision on 3 extra gaskets. Intake tube , Passage , Breather
All show small signs of build up around seams. Intake has the least, other two are same condition. Maybe promoting the fouling?

Thank you again
Damian
