Briggs and Stratton Pressure washer oil switch.

I have a Briggs and Stratton Pressure washer (model #133432-0036-01) and the low oil sensor float works BUT the bolt that holds the wire onto the oil sensor is crossed threded or something so it will not come off, nor go back on. So it is not getting a good connecton. Here is the part number for the oil sensor switch , #496605. Is there a way I can bypass this, I know that it is not recomneded but I dont want to pay 50 dollars for a rebuild kit.
