Hi everyone, looking for advice on a John Deere LX280 with a 54" deck and 440 hours. Buying a house with 1.5 acres and the owner is selling the mower along with a 7 bushel power throw rear bagger, 10p pull cart, spin spreader, and mulch kit. He is selling it for $3,100. Can't find too much info out there on the LX280 in regards to price so does anyone here know if this is a good price or not?

That is a 2004 or 2005 model
Seems high to me.
I am a tight wad...If you really want it, you could try and make a counter offer they will refuse..
The accessories are worth a generous $500 used. Tractor $1000 to $1500
If may look like new...does that matter? It is 14 years old...they depreciate.

Everybody is going to zero turn mowers..so regular lawn tractors are cheaper.

I have an LX277...I really like it...but I mostly mow with my Dixon ZTR
What does that tell you?

You can check prices on line...
Hopefully others will weigh in on their price....for this mower and equip.

Thank you for your quick response! I was thinking it was high as well and with my inexperience in this area I really appreciate your help. Going to start looking at zero turns.

Ok found another one online but not a zero turn just yet..2016 John Deere X380 48in deck with 87 hours, power flow bagger and mulch kit, for $3,800.
Thoughts?

Brand new this set up should be somewhere in the mid $5k range. But for 2 years old and 87 hours is it a good deal?

What are you going to do with it?
If just mow...a zero turn is hard to beat.

If you want to tow trailer, push a snow blade, sweep and bag...you need the tractor.

Good price?

gets back to what you can get the first one for...If it could be had for $1500 -$2000 It might be better

On any price offer...I want the seller to possibly refuse my offer...even counter offer.

You can always go up in price if they say no.

You can go to tractordata.com

enter a make and model number and see specs of different tractors
