Hello all
I have been reading where the GX and GXV and others are "surging" First, this is caused by the intake valve not closing all the way!! On the GX series, Remove the carb, and exhaust then the cylinder head. Clean the valves, and reinstall to correct clearances. You can contact me on how to do all of this step by step. On the Honda lawnmowers, it is more complex as you will have to take the engine apart if you have an Italian made Honda engine. To determine this, look at the side of the engine. If you see a 45 degree line, you have one of those engines and the engine has to be removed, taken apart in order to get the valves out. You can contact me on doing this with a step by step instruction. 99% of the shops miss this!! so don't feel bad!!
