I am new to forum. Frontrunner model FR27KC with Kohler CH740S. Starts cold no issues. Runs about 5 minutes and shuts off with no warning. Turn key to start, hear faint click, then acts like battery is dead. Jump start, runs fine for 5+-, shuts off. Battery is good, showing 12.2 on multimeter. Sanded terminals. Any ideas?

Battery is probably bad.
You need to load test it.

or, your charging system may not be working.

12.2 is not a good battery voltage.
Hook up your meter and crank the engine while watching it.
If the voltage drops below 10V battery is discharged at best or kaput at worst.

When the voltage drops below 10V the fuel solenoid shuts off and the engine stops.
As this happens when your engine is running you have a charging problem.

Jump the engine & start it.
Connect a voltmeter to the battery terminals.
You should see around 13 V ( or better ) if your charging system is working
anything less than 12.5 = bad charging circuit which is your real problem.

Locate the rectifier, it should be on the left side of the engine screwed into the blower housing.
It has 3 terminals on it , 2 white ( AC from the rectifier ) and 1 purple ( + 14V ) back to the battery.
There is a 4th terminal, which is the body of the rectifier which is the ground terminal so it must have a ground contact wire.
Generally Kohler use a brass strap and these crack & fracture over use causing a bad ground & failure to recharge the battery.
