I am having issues with my 1981 Dixon ZTR 424. It is eating a belt every year. I thought it was a bad pulley so I replaced one but that did not correct the issue. Anybody know anything about this model?

:welcome:

Eating a belt is a non description.
Just about all of the mower companies and belt makes put out guide charts to identify why a belt has failed.
Belts are a service item they are designed to wear out.
There are lots of reasons why a belt fails from operator error , through to debris through to mower problems.

Next there are 2 belts and 9 pulleys you have not told us which belt and which pulley.

It is a common problem with people posting problems.
You know exactly what is happening because you have the mower sitting right there in front of you.
We have nothing to go on but the words you put on the screen .

So if you want good quality help you have to provide good quality information.

We need to know which belt, which pulley, how often you mow, what you mow, how many hours the belt has run, what speeds you run the engine at, how fast you run the mower, what do you see , feel & hear when the mower is running, rougly what the yard is like, etc, etc , etc, etc,
