I just recently came across a shed find, a 8 year old craftsman dys4500, was only used 1 year then put up and left. I drained the old gas, tore apart carb, cleaned it all out, new filter, fuel pump, and new plugs. I can get it to turn over and start with the choke, but will not stay running without the choke. The fuel solenoid seems to be operating ok, new fuel filter, and fuel pump, no line kinks or leaks. It does pop every now and then once its running, backfire I guess.

Any Ideas?

Thanks

How about giving us the model number of the engine from the engine tag if Kohler or the valve cover if briggs. There are too many variations in engines to give a general answer since different engines have different fuel setups.

And get yourself a roll of 1/4 fuel line.
Good chance the lines are clogged, or gone to jelly

OK it's a Briggs....... Now tell us the model off of the engine itself....... That will tell us which one of the 2,000 engines we are talking about.........

Let us know Mon Ami ~!~!
