Not mechanically inclined. Wanted to check gear oil in 145 Deere lawn mower. Looked near the back axle and saw what I thought was the plug. It has a nut and washer on what looks like a plug, hex head. I took the nut and washer off and the "plug" turns and seems to go in and part way out. What is it? No fluid comes out. Is this a sealed transmission? Not sure what the mystery plug is for.
