Hello, need some experienced advice-

I am thinking about painting my riding mower with some "paint and primer in one", but it almost sounds to good to be true... So how durable is it? Is it as good as it says it is?

Thanks!

Never found one that actually works.
OK for a garden gate and that is about it.

I am a big fan of the do it properly and do it once school.
Thus I use POR 15 chassis coat over bare metal and the deck will never rust again unless it cracks.
Send the deck out and get it sand blasted, then do the full POR 15 undercoat EXACTLY AS PER INSTRUCTIONS.
When the POR is fully dry over paint with whatever top coat you like , you can put any type of paint over it.
I like to use the marine paints because they are much more durable .
POR 15 will bounce off bullets, but will degrade & crumble is left exposed to UV, which is how you remove it.
I have been doing push mowers with it for 20 years and not a one of them has ever rusted anywhere.

Well, times have changed. Primer forces water out and leaves a good surface for painting.
But the biggest paint seller Sherwin Williams sells this type of paint.
So, ASK Sherwin Williams.
And for automotive Sherwin Williams is the best!
