My 1998 JD Commercial walk behind mower with 54 inch deck and Kawasaki 14 horse engine threw its drive belt and needs a new one. I removed the mower deck and it looks like the PTO clutch needs to come off to replace the drive belt, but with the bottom bolt removed it still does not want to come off. The manual just shows a stack up of spacers and clutch parts and says, "Remove cap screw, washer, and PTO clutch." Sounds really simple doesn't it?
Apparently the old Murphy's law is now, "You Tube posters will never have seen a model quite like yours."
Is there any trick to getting the PTO clutch off? I hate to just start prying willy nilly on parts I probably would never find replacements for if I damage them.
