I was wondering if anyone has ever made, found, or used something on this trimmer besides just the plastic line to cut with? I have some tall weeds on my property and pretty uneven ground so I am going thru lots of trim line and would love something more sturdy to use on my Cub Cadet, thanks

I did just upgrade to the .175 size Oregon square string. I had to bend the tabs up a little because the stuff is very stiff and it lasts a long time especially if you can keep it away from woody plants. It does fairly well with woody plant too if not too big in diameter.

From a Canadian Victa mower agent get a Victa baseplate and swing back blades.
They are illegal in the USA but were exported to Canada untill Briggs & Stratton took over Victa

When Victa applied for an import license in 1965 and again in 1982 the US government realized it was substantially better than anything made locally so they banned them on the grounds that the swing back blade will fly off and chop your legs off and in 82 for the same reason + the Vortex was too quiet.
The blades have to be swing back because the small engine does not have the balls to chop through woody stems with a single bar blade in a single pass.
A swing back hits the stem then backs off a little so it both chops into the stem then turns back at an angle and slices .

Apparently there were some US makers who used the same superiour system a long while back so if they are still available they might work as well.
