I have replaced my starter relay three times to resolve a starting issue. Each time its replaced the mower will start maybe twice and then the relay fails again. What am I looking at? Direct connection to the starter starts it every time.

If replacing the relay fixes it, It must be the relay or an excessive draw through the relay. Either way the relay sounds weak. Is it a simplicity brand or an aftermarket? The aftermarket may be of a cheaper quality. If you can get an automotive style to work, it would be a lot more heavy duty.
