Newbie here, getting to grips with a new (to me) Toro 4500D. Radiator grills are clear (all three of them), new blades, but it is still getting pretty warm - well into the red - after 30 mins running. A pretty early machine, 5700 hours, coolant level OK and system seems to be working (85F going into the radiator, about 75F coming out) Machine cools down pretty quickly if left for a few minutes on idle with the hood up. Any suggestions about what should I check next?

Have you checked the OIL level , have you removed and cleaned the engine cooling fins lately, are you trying to cut grass that is very high ????

Thank you for these suggestions. There was some grass in nooks and crannies of the engine, so I blew those out with an air hose, and had a second go at the (three) radiators.
I also greased it up, as the 50 hour PM was due.
Result! Got a bit warmer than usual, but not into the red.
I will change the oil and filter, just as soon as the filter comes.....
