Buying Advice Fuel gauge

Is there any type of fuel gauge available for the JD 100 series lawn tractors? I know that after-market gauges that replace the original fuel caps are available for many brands and models. What about JD? If nothing is out there, does anyone have advice on how to check when light levels are too low to permit seeing the fuel level through the little port between the driver's legs? Thanks.

JD made a spring loaded setup with a lever that you can see and feel.
It can be fitted to your mower if you really want but easier just to keep the tank full.
When it is empty, time for cuppa in any case
