The answer for yesterday. Any of these would have been OK:
Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia, and West Virginia. The State the picture came from Illinois but a Cardinal would have never been enough of a clue to get it correct. So any of the states mentioned had the state bird of the Cardinal.
