C10 Update

The '84 C10 is back on 4 wheels!
Rear brake skidding problem which had dogged me..............GONE !!
Upgrading to the heavier rear shoe system did the trick! HALLELUJAH !!!!!!!
Differential seems to be operating correctly-no whines or clunks.
I an happy with my first ever differential conversion: 3.73 positraction........

Now, I GOTTA replace that #&^*%#%^&& Edelbrock carb.
Too big for the little 395 anyway, but really worn out,,,,,,,
Throttle shaft sticks when running and makes it really difficult to drive w/manual tranny.
Not sure which carb to get...smaller Edelbrock or go back to OE< Q-Jet........

Congratulations! You need to upgrade to EFI.

Does your carb have a vacuum activated choke? My 85 K20 had one and it was a pain. Replaced with an electronic one but I would probably have been happier with a manual one. I miss manual chokes on cars...

I live off Lake Conroe, about 40 miles north of Houston. Went up through the Piney Woods to Shreveport and then I 20 east. Been through Crowley a couple of times going to my friend's place.

Tom
Good fishing up in there. I have a friend that lives in Cut N Shoot......He comes over here in town 1 or 2 times a year..

He did a lot of traveling with his competition BBQ and smoke wagon..........

Re: MTD Yardman Transaxle Rebuild

That throttle stick when closed, or stick some open at higher RPM? I like Q-jets and Edebrock products myself.

Too bad she's only a 2 barrel..................

Throttle is sticky when running.
Air passing over the plates causes the shaft to stick and not return to idle.
Works fins when motor not running........
I had previously removed and polished the critter and it was better for a short time.
I went with a Holley Street Warrior 600cfm.

Gotta be better than the EB...................
I'll rework the EB in case I need more CFM after future engine mods.

OK lets be SERIOUS ...... that truck deserves a powerplant worthy of it's owner, when he stomps on the GO-PEDAL he wants to smoke the tires all the way to the beer-joint ! ....
