Grasshopper Briggs 18 HP Question

Grasshopper 718 mower with Vanguard 18HP B&S. Lost power, would still start, but barely move. No loud noises, clanks etc. preceded this. Pulled plug wires, found one side with spark but dead. checked compression and was zero on that side. opened valve cover, and aluminum pushrod had end broken off of it. Question, 1)Try replacing pushrod only? 2)Try replacing head on that side only 3)Try replacing both heads 4) Replace engine. More info: still starts right up, and piston on bad side DOES move up and down. Before losing power, did NOT burn oil, smoke etc. when running.

Make sure you can open the valves completely if not replace head. if so just replace broken push rod. most likely thing will be just replace push rod and go from there.
