Hello to all,
Sorry, not the place for introductions but I'm new to the site (as a registered user) and this is my first first post - because of an issue with my gas trimmer.

I own a Stihl FS 74 trimmer (an oldie but a goodie) for which I need a new Ignition Module. Problem is, the part (4133 400 13010) is NLA--no longer available. :frown: It seems I've read and/or have been told that the FS 74 was a precursor, and is closely related, to the FS 80 but I do not know if it's Ignition Module (4137 400 1350 - which is available) would work on my FS 74. I'm inclined to think not. The FS 75 is listed under that part # along with the 80, as well as the 80 R, 85, 85 R and 85 T but no 74.

If anyone who is in the know could shed some light on this for me I'd greatly appreciate it. Stihl is not exactly forthcoming with information online. I've had this trimmer for 7 or 8 seasons and it's been good to me so I'd like to repair it if it could be done cost effectively. This probably precludes the Stihl dealer because the last time I was there I paid around $18 for a gas cap - which is about what an aftermarket Ignition Module costs. It may be time to move on.

Another forum has this posted: " OEM Part Number is 4133-400-1301 and it fits models: BG 72, FG 72, FS 72/74/76, and HS 72/74/76."
To keep it cheap u have 2 options- ebay used or ebay from China. Personally both worked for me.
Hope this helps your search.
