Cub Cadet XT1 Enduro, 18 Kohler, right spindle brake hitting on trailing edge not flush

Less than 20 hours and it seems the right spindle brake (983-05182)
will soon be metal to metal with the spindle. The brake hits on the trailing edge
and not flush with the spindle.
Cub Cadet has offered to repair with local facility but the wait is 3 weeks.
I live in Florida and have to cut grass weekly, any ideas on a good MTD parts
source to buy parts.

Spindle brakes are not one of my favourite devices.
On mowers with manual PTO's they serve the useful purpose of putting a load on the slackened belt encouraging it slip as intended.
On electric PTO's they are about as much use as double sided toilet paper.
If yours has worn through in such a short time it was not adjusted properly nor checked by the dealer prior to delivery.
Ask the dealer to call you when the parts arrive and continue mowing with it.
If it annoys you tie it off with some tie wire.
