I picked up a Troy Bilt Model # 11A-A26M066.

The recoil cord would not rewind. I took the housing off and found that the retainer that kept the Ratchet Pawls in place was broken.

I replaced the retainer, but now, at times, only one Pawl spins out to engage the flywheel. The other pawl, doesn't spin out far enough and then does not retract.

Is it just that the Pawls are worn and need to be replaced?

Is there supposed to be small springs to help engage the Pawls?

Thanks,

Check to see if you installed the new retainer properly and that the area around the pawls is not damaged. No springs on your system.

Thanks.

The retainer is positioned properly, I believe the pawls are damaged.

Will order new pawls, cheap enough.....

Thanks again
