Hello,

I am looking to see if anyone has any ideas as to what is going on with my mower. About a month or so ago, I noticed that my mower (John Deere G-100 with a kohler engine) is losing power when going up a slight hill. It only does this when the mower is engaged. When I disengage the mower, I do not have any issues at all. When it happens the engine almost comes to a complete stop and is close to shutting down and I have to disengage the mower to prevent this. This has forced me to only mow downhill or flat ground. I have had the battery looked at and I have replaced the fuel filter. I am thinking though that since it only occurs when the mower is engaged that something else is going on. Any suggestions???

Thanks,
Ken

Check transaxle drive belt & idler pulley for replacement. You may want to consider changing transaxle gear oil & filter per your operators manual.
