Hi guys,

I have an older R70 rear engine lawn tractor that I've just got running with help from this forum. My question is should I change the oil in the gear case as I'm sure it has not been done for many years, and if so, where are the drain and fill plugs located? I have looked at a schematic on the JD site, bit cannot find either listed there, and cannot seem to find them on the mower? Do I need to take the seat assembly off to access them?

Thanks for any help.

Go to JD and download the owners manual.
In a lot of RER's they use a real gear box with real gears.
Typically these are filled with grease so do not have a drain plug.
They do benefit from fresh grease from time to time.
