Repairs John Deere 210 Steering Rod

I got in a hurry, paid no attention to how rod from steering bracket to axle came off,,, ugh,,,,,,,,,,, there is a straight end,,on rod,, and the other end has a sort s-curve in it,,,, I put it on with curve down sort of down, and straight end on steering wheel bracket ,, is this correct ?
