Can I use SeaFoam to clean the carburetor? There is a surge in power, while operating my HL 100 hedge trimmer. The trimmer is 8 years old? And, I have never emptied the gas mixture over the winter. It has always started just fine. I'm retired, on a limited income. I fully accept my culpability in causing the problem; just looking for the least expensive solution. And, are there any good YouTube videos or manuals (for dummies) that explain or show how to get to the carb, for cleaning? Thanks for your help.

Using SeaFoam to try to solve your problem can't hurt anything. I would give it a try. If it doesnt solve the problem you will need to have the carb either cleaned and rebuilt or replaced. Sometimes it is cheaper to replace, than to rebuild.
