I bought a brand new STIHL pole saw to put at the end of a STIHL powerhead. I filled up the reservoir and the saw isn't lubricating like it should be. I ran it a bit to see if I had to wait, but still not much oil. It says in the manual that it should spray oil at the end of the bar and it isn't. Is there something that I am missing? If not, I will go to the dealer and see what is wrong with it.

Since you just bought it then I would take it back to dealer.

look closely for an Oiler adjustment. I don't know about Stihl pole saws, but every one of their chainsaws I have owned have an almost hidden adjustment for the oil pump flow. If it's like the chainsaws, there should be a slotted screwdriver adjustment on the bottom of the saw. Look in your owners manual for anything related to adjusting the oil flow.

Chainsaws usually come supplied with a plastic spacer betwewn the saw and the guide bar which you have to remove.

Have you done this?

If not take it back.

All right, I will check that out. If I can't fix it, I will go back to the dealer.

Brought it back to the dealer in the end. They said it needed to be primed.

Thanks for the help.
