This title explains itself. I am buying a heavier duty Mo-Jack Hitch and was wondering about DUMP TRAILERS. Metal or plastic compound?
How much tongue weight can I handle and how much weight can I pull with two extra wheels on the trailer? k46 belt drive with locking Diff and 26 hp Kohler
should I remove the approx. 300-400 pound deck? It seems to act as a nice weight for traction.

Model #
Most all tractors can pull 1/2 of their own weight.

Would it be wise to leave the deck attached for more weight ahead of the transaxle? Both for balance and increased traction. I would think towing would give the rear tires enough traction. Thanks!
Also, would the combined weight of the owner and attachments be calculated into the "pulling half it's weight" equation? I ask too many questions, sorry. Thanks!

Indigo, I would think long and hard and do a lot of reasurch on the K46 before I hauled any weight with it !
It won't take very long till it will start not pulling very well and you will be asking what can I do to fix it.
I'm not trying to bust your bubble, but if you do more than mowing with K46 it will go out on you.
Just trying to keep you from making a very expensive mistake.

thanks guys! I wish I would have known more about the diff transmission models, as I believe I could have paid more for a k66 instead of the k46. the hydrostatic transmissions do not seem to work well for pulling or pushing. However, the MTD I had had a small Hydro gear transmission and I hauled a large lawn roller every season and a large heavy lawn rake for extra grass clippings twice a month for 15 years and it still works great. the guy I sold it to loves it. I just need a mid- size tractor with a 3 point hitch etc. for the things I wish to do.

Thanks for the advice!

Word processing tables to not work in HTML and this information is great but almost impossible to read.
A bitof a PIA I know but try taking a screen shot of the table and then post it as a photo.
