Thanks in advance for your feedback -

We only have 1 acre and of that I'll be mowing about 30,000sf. Mostly flat except the slope to the ditch in front. I've looked at 3 of the 4 models listed below and will check out the SKAG this week.

1. Big Dog Alpha MP 48" With Kawasaki FR691V $3999.00
2. Hustler Raptor SD 60" With Kawasaki FR730V $4499.00 at Lowes minus my 10% military discount. They only have 1 left with the Kawasaki engine(leftover from last year) and it's been sitting out in the weather. The other 3 they have in stock come with the Kohler 26hp engine.
3. SKAG Liberty Z 48" with Kohler 22hp $4199.00 52" with 24hp Kohler $4399.00
4. Bad Boy ZT Elite 48" with Kohler $4499.00

The dealer for the Bad Boy is in a 6.75% tax area. The other 3 are 8.25%

Was looking at Toro TimeCutter residential stamped deck last year until I decided to wait on laying sod. Bought myself 6 months but mowing season is coming soon and between this site and others my selections have increased in price significantly. I've learned a lot about serviceable trannys, decks and engines so I'm pretty sure that Toro model is out of the running. Really want to stay under 5k out the door.

Any glaring positives or negatives about my choices so far? Are these overkill for my application?

Thanks!

If it was me, I would get the scag 48. You don't really need a 60" mower for less then an acre

I like the toro ss5000
I have one that is 5 years old with over 2000 hours.
Never a problem with the drives or the deck. I feel it is the best zero turn in its price range.
