Looking for some quick advice. I am purchasing a zero turn mower this week. The two mowers I am deciding between are a Toro Z Master 3000 with a Kawasaki and a 52 turbo force deck and the other is a Husqvarna PZT 54 with a Kawasaki and a 54'inch deck. The mowers are priced respectively at $6980 for the Toro and $6050 for the husky. Toro dealer going to throw in the suspension seat which retails for $600. Is the Toro worth the extra cash? It appears from the research that they are very compatible. Thanks for any thoughts.

I think you need to do some checking Because it sounds like your talking about the Z master 2000 not the 3000. It also sounds like you maybe talking about last years models at those prices. The Z master is a lot better mower than the PZT, if it's the 3000 they come with a full 7 ga deck which is a lot more deck than the 10/7 ga on the PZT. The ZM also comes with separate pumps and wheel motors not the 3400 drives like the PZT. The ZM 2000 come with he 3400 drives. The new Z-Master 3000 can also be purchased with the new suspension platform and it has 3 coil over damper shocks that are fully adjustable for ride quality. The PZT-54 on the Husqvarna site list for $7699 and the Z Master 3000 will go for somewhere around 10K or better New.

As a rule I would say toro.
But I do not like the turbo force deck.

I agree with ric. Not sure about these prices.
If you can get the 3000 for $6980 then I would jump on it.

Thanks for the response Ric. I have done so much checking my head is spinning. The price I got on the PZT is from a local dealer and it is a 2015. I managed to get my local dealer to match SLE Equipment pricing. The toro is also a 2015 and is the Z Master 3000. I am getting a 26% discount using the Equine Savings Program. So the price is MSRP of $9443 less the 26% or $6988.

Ric let me ask this then. Is the PZT a better comparison to the Z-Master 2000? I can get the 2000 with a 48" deck and kawasaki for $5975. Its a good jump to go to the 3000. Is it worth it? Homeowner use only. Thanks

The Z Master 2000 would be a better comparison than the 3000 and still a better mower than the PZT. I purchased the 2000 last August and I've been mowing 70 plus clients/lawns weekly and have like 270 hrs on the thing already and never a problem, so you using it as a home unit it would last you forever. First and foremost The Toro 2000 comes with a 4 year 500 hr warranty, not a 2 yr like the PZT. IMO definitely a big plus. The 3000 series is a 5 year / 1200 hr commercial warranty. You should get the FX 651V 20.5 hp on the 2000 48" at least that's what mine came with and combined with the 3400 drives makes the 2000 a good combo, it's more than enough to do any job that you want and it's not overkill. I run two of the Turbo Force decks and I love the decks. $5975 for the 2000 is the same as stealing it.

Great price on the zmaster 3000. It is the better mower of the two. Either would probably handle your needs easily, but I would choose the zmaster 3000 over the pzt at those prices.

Thanks to all for the feedback. I am leaning towards the Z master 3000. I went and looked at them again today. The warranty and the dealer have more less sold me. The Z 2000 is a nice machine too. I'll be deciding by Friday. Grass will need mowed this weekend.

Ya know... If I could get that discount :smile: I would look at the My Ride 3000 with the suspension platform. I think that's going to be my next mower.

Made my decision today. Got the 3000 series 52" deck. Went to the distributor to see it because dealer didn't have one in stock. So it's brand new in a crate. Got the equine discount so I got it for $6987. Get to pick it up tomorrow ready to go with the the mulch kit installed. Very excited! Thanks for the help everyone.
