starter solenoid new
seat kill sw. bi-passed
fuses good

starts sometimes , other times just hear the relay click in and carb solenoid click in.
(will start and run if jumped across starter solenoid poles).

going to look more into it today hopefully

just thought maybe someone else has dealt with this problem also and may have suggestions on what could cause this.

thanks in advance for any suggestions

Check by hand connections at backside of ignition switch for being tight & secure.

Well done, pat yourself on the back, good post.

thanks for the tip on checking ignition sw. connections:thumbsup:
(that was one of the first things I did, knowing how they seem to be the issue 9 outta 10 times)

I chased the problem to bad relay switch
switch would click but wouldn't hold contact ( not allowing the starter solenoid to ground, completing the start circuit)

how I found it:
(NOTE: (ALL THESE CHECKS DONE HOLDING KEY IN START POSITION)

1. check for power from key switch to starter solenoid. (fine)
2. checked for power from starter solenoid to relay switch. (dead)
3. pulled relay switch and checked relay switch block for power flow across it. (fine)
4. removed relay sw. cover and reinstalled relay.
5. holding key in start position pressed on relay contact to complete start circuit. (engine turned over fine)
