B&S 1221 01 spark issues

well no spark, so i picked up a new magneto B&S part $$$, set it all up .010 gap, fires up only on one cylinder, but a cheap mag off of an auction site $15 free shipping. Install with .010 gap boom starts up both cylinders hitting great, reassemble the big red monster mow the front lawn 20-30 min. then no spark push big red into the shed and there it sits. could this be a grounding problem? stator? stator cable?. any soild ideas would be :thumbsup:.

oh by the way This forum is great, i tried two other tractor/lawn mower forums and what a pain they both were, thanks for quick and easy set up

was the cheap mag used?
mag may have quit when hot, try checking for spark cold (and or start it cold), if it has spark (or starts) id say bad mag.
if no spark id check to make sure it didn't loose gap or look for grounded wire.

both mags were new, i tried starting after it sat until cold, still no spark, gas is good, compression is 115+ on both sides. i don't really feel like taking it all apart until i have a better idea on what the issue is.
