Hi everyone,
This summer I would like to add to my backyard. I just bought my house a year and a half ago and the backyard had been very neglected. I would like to expand the backyard but I have no idea how to tackle such a big task. In the pictures you can see where my lawn ends and then it just turns into this awful mess of prickers, weeds, and god knows what else. In the summer all of this just grows up to about 6 feet but its pretty much dead after the winter. Please view my pictures and if you have any idea on how I would tackle this, it would be great!!

Thank you

Your last post is not going to win you any friends. My guess is that 99% of the viewers are nonmembers or members like me, who are service techs and can't really help. The landscape guys are very busy this time of year and will get around to answering, if you don't get pushy. You must realize that the good guys here help out as a favor, when they have time. If you feel we should be at your beckon call, you will get no where.

Easy thing to do is cut it to the ground now. And keep it cut. In a couple months it will look like the rest of the yard.

Also dig out any stumps or rocks you can. If you can find the root balls for some of the briars dig them out too.
